Description

The rocky backdrop of the Hochkönig is mighty and imposing - truly regal! Its rock walls seem impregnable from the south, but in fact the alpine kingdom of the Hochkönig is a wonderful place to go hiking. The Rother hiking guide "Hochkönig" presents 60 selected routes in the area of this mountain king, which also includes the Steinerne Meer, the Tennengebirge and the Loferer Steinberge.

The routes are extremely varied and there is something for every taste: easy hikes take you up to panoramic peaks, breathtaking panoramas can be enjoyed on lengthy high-altitude trails or you can hike comfortably from alpine pasture to alpine pasture against a majestic backdrop. More challenging routes - some of which are airy and exposed - take you into rocky terrain and require alpine experience. Of course, there is also the Hochkönig itself - the highest peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps at 2941 meters! Some multi-day tours and crossings such as through the Steinerne Meer or over the Tennengebirge are also presented.

For each route there are reliable directions, a hiking map with the route marked and an altitude profile. Clear tour information provides information on requirements and altitude difference, refreshment stops, places of interest and variants. GPS tracks are also available for download.

The authors Sepp and Marc Brandl are experienced authors of alpine literature. They have published numerous walking and ski tour guides with Rother Bergverlag.
<p
