<p>For many years, the Schüsselkar - one of the most traditional climbing areas in the Alps - with its classic and modern showpiece tours was synonymous with the south side of the Wetterstein. The area is still one of the best in the Alps, and excellent new routes have been added, especially on the edges. But the other climbing destinations have continued to catch up.</p><p>In the completely revised and enormously expanded 3rd edition of the guidebook, the region around Ehrwald and the Mieminger Kette now make up more than half of the 432-page book. For climbers made from the Allgäu, Munich and Stuttgart areas, these areas in particular represent easily accessible and absolutely equal alternatives to the well-known destinations in the Tannheim or Oberrein valleys. Word has already got around about some of them: the Seebenwände with its short approach, the generous undertakings on the Sonnenspitze, the first-class rock on the Wampeter Schrofen and the perfectly secured routes around the Coburger Hütte.
